Territorial Acknowledgement

We acknowledge, with respect to the Gitxsan Huwilp Government, that the Upper Skeena Counselling & Legal Assistance Society resides on the traditional laxyip (territory) of the Gitxsan people and wilps (Houses), which have existed since time immemorial.  In acknowledging the laxyip, we also acknowledge the ongoing and intergenerational harms created by the institutions and practices of settler colonialism.

We also acknowledge the importance of our continuing working partnerships with Indigenous Peoples, inclusive of the Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en peoples, in maintaining good relations with the greater community and the land.
